I have a question. . .what is the evidence for baptism being purely symbolic vs. an actual cleansing of sin? (Forgive the awkward phrasing. I'm not sure how to put it better.) I was always taught that baptism was purely symbolic. But now I've been wondering about it, and. . .I'm just very confused. And both arguments feel convincing at the moment.
If this has already been discussed ad nauseam, just point me toward the old posts and I'll read them - or let me know and I'll look for them myself. :-)
